bleh.
I’ve been listening to a lot of the artists heading here for Splendour in the Grass recently and to be honest I’m quite happy missing out on the festival. Granted some of the acts would be cool… I wouldn’t mind seeing Devo live and Sigor Ros always put on a good show but seriously a lot of the bands are just the same British indie-pop boring stuff that seems to be recycled over and over. Don’t get me wrong, I liked The Libertines in their hay-day but right now, really over it.
It’s all a bit underwhelming – especially when you look at the Japanese music festival Summer Sonic whose line up not only includes the large majority of Splendour acts but also the likes of Santogold, Silversun Pickups, Late of the Pier, The Verve, Los Campesinos!, Justice, Blood Red Shoes, These New Puritans, MGMT, Friendly Fires, Crystal Castles… etc.
I’d give my left foot to see Santogold alone…
