Ladyhawke isn’t new to a lot of bloggers. Her single ‘Paris is Burning’ and its numerous remixes are in pretty heavy circulation on the web. But I don’t really care.

Ladyhawke (named after the movie) is the solo project of NZer Pip Brown, previously of Two Lane Blacktop. Now living in London, Pip was based in Sydney for a number of years. She collaborated with Nick Littlemore (from PNAU) to create art-punk-dance band Teenager. I was lucky enough to see Teenager perform live a number of times here, really insane stuff – and I suppose that’s why I’m now a big fan of both Ladyhawke and PNAU.

Ladyhawke’s debut album is due to be released in September 08 on Modular Recordings who have also released recordings for Aussie bands like The Presents, Muscles, Van She, Ghostwood as well as international acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, NYPC, and MSTRKRFT.
